Special winter offer: all bog-shoe hikes taking place in December and January are 25% off!
All bog-shoe hikes listed on this page are English-language packages designed for international visitors. If you’d like to join a bog-shoe hike in Estonian, just send me a message.
Discover the wild side of Estonia on a bog-shoe hike — an unique adventure starting from Tallinn. You can step off the wooden boardwalks with lightweight bog-shoes strapped to your boots and explore untouched Estonian bog landscapes that are hard to reach on foot.
During the bog-shoe hike, you’ll walk across soft, water-filled moss and climb the watching tower for incredible views of the surrounding bog. At the end of the hike, you’ll return to the starting point on the boardwalk without bog-shoes, gaining the additional experience of walking along the wooden trail. During the trip, you’ll also get to taste traditional Estonian food for a true local experience.
Our guided hikes are safe, relaxing, and full of discovery — perfect for travelers who want to experience authentic Estonian nature.
All hiking locations are only 1–1.5 hour drive from Tallinn, making this an easy and refreshing half-day trip that combines adventure and tranquility. You can choose between a bog-shoe hike in a small group or a private bog-shoe hike — both options include transportation. If you’d like to join the tour but don’t need transport, feel free to get in touch — we’ll find the best solution for you together.
Our trips usually start around 8–10 AM but we can easily adjust the time to fit your plans. We can also organize sunrise or sunset hikes for those who want to enjoy Estonia’s nature at its most magical moments. For private sunrise or sunset hikes, we can adjust the start time up to 24 hours in advance if the weather isn’t ideal. The hike day stays the same, but sunrise hikes can be moved later and sunset hikes earlier, ensuring the best experience.
If you’re arriving by cruise ship, we can tailor the trip specifically for you — we’ll pick you up directly from the port when you arrive and bring you back to the port (or anywhere else in Tallinn) after the tour. It’s the perfect way to see a different side of Estonia — something most cruise visitors never get to experience — while still having time to enjoy Tallinn’s Old Town.
Bog-shoe hikes are available all year round, except during the bird nesting season (April 23 – June 24) when walking with bog-shoes is not allowed. During this peaceful period, we offer an alternative — a guided walk in the bog along the wooden boardwalk, where you can still enjoy the stunning views of Estonia’s bogs. All other hike details stay the same.
